Stogumber Documents

This is a selection of transcriptions which I have made of  some of the more interesting and colourful excerpts from documents stored at the Somerset Record Office (SRO), Taunton relating to Stogumber.

Also included are some more weighty documents which have been transcribed either by myself  or by Lesley Morgan which might be of interest to family historians or those researching the area in more detail. Some of these are first or working drafts only, and readers who are looking for particular details should consult the original documents.

You can browse the full catalogue via this link

If you would like to help out transcribing some documents then please get in touch. It would be good to get the records of the overseers of the poor  (pictured above) available online in this way for instance.
