Packhorse Tracks, Drove Roads and Lost Lanes

There is great historical interest in old railways and canals, but roads receive comparatively  little attention. These pages provide an introduction to three different types of lapsed highway – each was associated with a particular type of traffic, and each declined for different reasons, but all can still be seen today in the landscape of west Somerset.
